Our client is one of the leaders in the wind industry in the Nordics and one of the key companies in the industry in the world. For their office in Helsinki they are now looking for a Senior Sales Manager responsible for the region. 

In this position you will have key account responsibility for a number of important key accounts in Finland and is responsible for identifying and developing further business opportunities with new and existing clients.


Key accountabilities

  • Working closely with Head of Sales Finland and Country Manager to maintain a detailed understanding and overview of the market, the key account activities and the project opportunities;
  • Developing new client relationships through pre-tender discussions, site visits, technical support and throughout the tendering and sales negotiation process;
  • Taking the lead in the coordination and preparation of tenders for turbine supply, turnkey contracts and service activities;
  • Leading negotiations with clients and coordinating the necessary internal resources in order to achieve successful contract closure on time and on budget with the support of the Head of Sales Finland and the Country Manager and playing a central role with the internal sales process;
  • Close liaison and alignment with internal engineering, project management, commercial, legal and other departments where necessary;
  • The provision of coordinated planning, forecasting and reporting, working closely with CRM and other IT tools, in line with company requirements and in cooperation with the Head of Sales for Finland and the Country Manager;
  • Close liaison with the Project Management and Service Departments to ensure a smooth transition of projects between departments and effective feedback processes throughout the Finnish operation.
  • Frequent travel within Finland and abroad is part of the job
  • Further sales related tasks




Career / Job experience

  • A strong commercial background with a minimum of 5 years experience in the sale of high value capital equipment to utilities and other institutional investors, preferably from the wind or other power generation industries and Finnish market place;


Education and qualification

  • Degree-level qualification in an economics, mechanical/electrical engineering or suitable alternative discipline, together with a good technical awareness;
  • A strong knowledge of the Finnish wind energy market, market players and their interconnections and a proven track record in the sale of wind turbines;
  • A good understanding of contract structure through experience gained in working with both Nordex Standard, FIDIC and possibly other similar types of contract. An awareness for interconnections that contractual clauses have across department level. A competent grasp of contract law and key commercial principles is essential.
  • Capable of negotiating most of the key contractual items independently and handling also complex issues in co-operation with different departments;
  • Native speaker of Finnish language preferred with excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English, a further European language is of advantage
  • Knowledge of project financing issues and experience with modeling cash flows and project economics would be an distinct advantage
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office products, exposure to CRM desirable
